I had to grease my CV joints on my '84 on the way to Yellowstone this last
summer.
I bought a small grease gun and I got the right moly grease from NAPA,
somewhere in Indiana, but I suspect its available everywhere.   If you need
the brand, I may still be able to find it.
I used the needle method but I found that the rubber hose attachment to the
gun made it soooo much easier.
Frankly , I dont believe that the absence of clamps on the small diameter
will hurt anything at all.   Grease cannot come out of there. It gets slung
out by centrifugal force and it would be defying physics to come out through
a non existant gap in the wrong place.    Some cars dont even have them.
I recently replaced a torn boot on a BMW rear axle and it didnt have them.
 It you want peace of mind though, use a tie wrap.
