No 'new' engines or transmissions available anymore that I' aware of. There is an outfit in the northwest that is recommended for rebuilding the trans, although I think they specialize in manuals: http://www.aatransaxle.com/

As for the engine, they are not cheap- $2000~3000 for a complete rebuild, which is why some opt for the Subaru, I-4 VW, or some other anomoly.
