We have an 87 GL and although we have talked about turning it into a full
camper, haven't done it yet. But we do use it as a camper quite often.I made
curtains to go around all the windows, take the middle seat out and put the
rear seat down(which turns into a bed, that is why there is a pad in the
cargo section over the motor). We have done that for the past two years when
we go to various VW events and even in other occasions. It does sleep quite
well.
I would like to have the weekender conversion in my van (with the fold
up table and rear facing seats).
