TinkerMan)I already have a sender (originally for a fiat, has a hole to bolt to something). There is another thing that you need to know about your Fiat sender. The VDO spark plug senders are thermo couples that generate a miniscule amount of current that poweres the gauge. The Fiat sender may be a sensor, not a sender and may require a powered gauge. I believe the Porsche sender I've got would work with a powered gauge and the sender would go into some of the threaded ports that are on Vanagon TypeIV heads. I'd prefer it over the spark plug sender type VDO unit but haven't had the inspiration to experiment with other gauges that I have in my tool box. I'm sure there is a simple solution to just mount it under a headbolt since they are easy to get to on watercooled engines.
