I'm one of the people who mentioned it, but it's a bad idea. The regulator works to constantly adjust the fuel pressure so that the pressure through the injectors is always the same. This means that every time you put your foot down, the regulator changes the fuel line pressure by up to 10 psi.

*If* you installed a pressure gauge on the measuring tee, and connected the hoses that used to come from the faulty regulator, and partially clamped that hose on its way back (forward) to the gas tank so that you had about 30 psi on the gauge with the fuel pump running -- you might be able to limp home. But you might burn out your CAT from running too rich, or your exhaust valves from running too lean. I don't think it's worth it.

If you could get *any* fuel pressure regulator with a 2.5 bar (36-psi) setting it could no doubt be jury-rigged to work. All you need is to know which is the inlet, which the outlet, and which the vacuum connection on the regulator.

But if you can't, I'd take the bus home and come back later with the part.
