Living where it snows (like right this minute) all I can say is the Vanagon is abysmal in the white stuff. I own both a Vanagon and a lagwagen ('77) and the loaf is 1000% better in the snow. Reason? The Vanagon is 49-51 weight distribution. The loaf, 35-65. To improve the Vanagon, put a 100 kilos over the engine cover. And get studs and cables. And drive like there's just been an ice storm. It'll still handle lousily, but you'll feel like it handles better. Jim |
