Your Alfa spider only weighed 1800/2100 pounds.
I've used them before but only to unload a car.
Back in the early sixties I sold all kinds of Spring Boosters to drag
racers and the spring risers that come in sets of six with gradual steps
seem to work best, I can't remember the manufacturers name though. We
used three in each spring with the shortest on the bottom then progressed
to the tallest as they progressed around the bottom coil. They stayed in
place and didn't make the ride stiff.
It is my understanding that Delco Air Lift Shocks from a Chevy Astro Van
will fit the rear of Vanagons and Westies with the use of a longer top
mounting bolt. Can't prove it, never done it.
