My '81 starts down to zero and below with 10W30 oil. Last winter, my 911 sat outside at a ski area for three days around 5 degrees and would hardly turn over with 20W50-- and it has a BIG battery.

There is a BIG difference below 15 or 20 degrees between 10W30 and 20W50! So before you crawl around checking the starter wires, etc, check your battery voltage and put in winter oil.
