Brian,

Not a bad idea to contact Trasco. Would you be willing to do that for a new leg on the topic?

But for me, and for such a low cost item ($72 plus shipping) I wonder if the savings would be worth the hassle? Yet, "a penny saved is a penny earned" as Ben Franklin said. I'm going to pester Trasco until I get some acidity results or do my own tests.

I'm impressed with what I read but I agree with some of the skeptics that claims made are not always what they seem. Yet, the reports from Stuart MacMillan on Tom's web page gives me confidence that it is a good choice.

I think that even a small group of interested people on this list can conduct our own tests. If we document the tests the least it will do is help our group. Mike Moery sent me this link for a company that does oil tests ($21.50 + S&H each from www.oillab.com ) Whether Trasco will get involved with discounts or compensation concerns me less than protecting my investment in a great Vanagon vehicle.
