All of the above indicating that yes, the light really did mean that you
weren't charging. <g>

Check your regulator brushes -- if they're not worn too short have the
alternator tested at a FLAPS.

I'd wait on this until you've got normal running voltage again.  If it's
still a problem we can tackle it then.
