I have looked into this as well. I even went so far as to check out the CARB website. I found the info there about what was done for the Eurospec conversion. The CARB site says that the EFI from a OBD Jetta ('93 model year I think) was fitted to a motor that had the 2.0L Jetta block and an Audi Cyl head.

The biggest problem with using this for the TiiCo is that the EFI used on the TiiCo motor was NEVER imported to the US. Therefore CARB nas no info about this EFI system.

I am confused why Tiico has seemingly had trouble CA certifying the engine. If anyone remembers, Eurospec sold an engine conversion for a year or so that was CA certified and it looked just like the Tiico kit. I wouldn't be suprised if they just imported the same thing. I may be wrong, but if true why can't the same engine certification be used? Dave
