All went well with the trip to Akron to retrieve Hans the stranded '91
Caravelle.
There were snow squalls up and back but the van rode well on the trailer. We
checked at every stop and had to tighten up the tie downs a couple of times.

We had to improvise getting him on/off the trailer b/c the ramps were too
short.  We used some ramps from one of the car dealer's (where we had left
the stranded, lifeless, pobrecito Hans)  trailers and when we got home we
used some 2x4 , 4x4's and some 2x6's to extend the trailer ramps so the
van's bumpers would clear. Hans is sitting, waiting for surgery. Soon to be
accomplished after the transplant of the diesel engine and tranny to the
white Caddy pickup is completed.

Other than that we had no complications in the trip. I hope he will start
again to get him into the service bay when we need to; as he is losing power
with each successive starting. At first it felt like he was running on three
cylinders and now it's more like two.  It will be interesting to see how
extensive the damage is. I sure hope it's only the gasket and not the head.
