Subject: rear heater core?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

'90 Westy, 139k miles, owned since new. Seldom or never used the rear heater in the early years (in San Diego), but it has been used and then the valve shut off in the summer. Used the last couple of winters. It has leaked at some time in the past as I could smell it and today I remove all of the covers and could see the green ring of residue in the bottom of the floor channel. But it is very dry and there is no evidence of recent leaking. No leak at the valve but a trace of green on the fins of the core suggest that's where it leaked. Anyone had anything similar where it seems to have sealed itself up? And no, I don't believe in miracles, at least where Vanagons are concerned. Comments? Thanks, Jerry
