<< Does anybody have a CB rig in their van? I've picked up a nice Cobra, but unless it gets mounted in a center console, can't see a way to make it readily accessible. >>

Yep, a Cobra hand held. All of its controls, and the speaker are contained in the handset. The electronics are in a very small box which lives underneath the dash just to the left of the radio. Mic cord is routed out from underneath the heater duct cover on the passenger side so it won't tangle in my feet. Clip to hold the mic in storage position is screwed to the heater duct cover to the left of the shifter within reach. In standby use, it sits on top of the steering column held in place with Velcro.®

The antenna I use is a folding gutter mount model from Radio Shack, but I think it's no longer in their catalog.
