In seven years I've installed three clutch master cylinders. They always
start leaking in cold weather.
I let them drip for a month before I replace them.
Remove the brake fluid from your carpet with regular rubbing alcohol.
Put dry newspapers under your carpet about twice a week it soaks up most
of the fluid.
