         Heating element can be removed and re-glued to the new mirror.  
Anyone know where to get replacement heating elements  ?  The shop that did 
my mirrors broke the leads off one of the heating elements then threw it in 
the trash !  Needless to say I was not thrilled and have never used their 
services again nor do I recommend them to anyone.  I've been looking for a 
replacement heater element ever since.  No luck so far !  Never seen any 
power heated mirrors in the scrap yards around here.  Maybe from another 
vehicle ?  Humm.........never thought about that.  Maybe there is an option 
other than getting a new mirror with heating element from VW at their 
ridiculous price.
