Interesting to see them mentioned; they're a favorite of mine too (although more so their earlier stuff)... The Dead and Phish are also great highway cruising choices (and, of course, are required by natural law to emanate from every VW camper :-)... Fairport Convention (and British Folk in general) and Kate Bush, for mellowing out during traffic jams or camping in the Westy... Classic pyschedelia such as the Airplane, Hot Tuna, Caravan, HP Lovecraft, Bubble Puppy, etc. is always a good fallback... Gentle Giant, Captain Beefheart, Thomas Dolby, and other rather offbeat stuff when I'm in an odd mood (some of which really brings strange looks when I pull up to a traffic light with a window open :-)

When all else fails, we happen to have a great public radio station in Philadelphia, WXPN (88.5), who can be counted on to play something (new or old) that you've never heard before, and may never hear again, but months later still think of periodically, like a good book...
