I bought my first VW van, a 1962 Kombi, when I was living in Australia, in about 1971. It was a real beater wagon, but I was able to fix it up for camping and exploring around Queensland, but spent most of my time at the beach, sleeping in it over the weekend. I can remember my parents and grandmother mentioning a song that was popular in the early days of the horseless carriage, something about "Get out and get under...". Anybody know the words? Could be a theme song for the Vanagon. I guess I would fall in the upper reaches of the age category. I was wondering the age span of the members of this list. Usually popularity of vehicles falls into an age group. I was 26 when I bought my first van. Who is the youngest member and who is the chronologically gifted member? Kurt 91 Carat 90 Carat |
