Rico, when I bought my '84 in 5/97, one of the problems was leaking ATF. It eventually got bad enough that I had my mechanic take a look at it. He found that the cover plate over the governor had a bad o-ring. He took the cover plate to a transmission shop and got the correct o-ring. No problems since then.
