Subject:   Busted Shifter? Tis the Season!
Content-Type:   text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

As the cold weather encroaches across our fair nation many Vanagons are making a popping sound. It is the sound of the brittle plastic parts inside your manual shifter lever assembly self-destructing (you didn't think they would last forever did you?). But do not fear, here is a list of parts to fix your problem (or if you have never rebuilt your shifter then it might be time for some PM):

1- 171 711 227A- $2.20 1- 171 711 279- $6.90 2- 823 711 255- $2.90 each ($5.80) 1- 251 711 645- $6.90 1- 823 711 643 A- $4.00 1- 823 711 199- $.73

I sell these parts as a kit for a mere $23.63. That is a small amount compared to the possibility of having your van become not driveable on a long trip, or the cost of towing. Just wanted to let the List know that this kit is available. Just call or email if you want one. Happy winter driving!
