I bought my first VW in 1987, when I was 17, amost 18. It was a red, 1968 beetle. Unfortunately, it was stolen, and never found again. In 1994, the next VW I bought was a 1974 powder blue Super beetle. I loved that thing, but after our second child was born, it was too small to fit groceries, stroller, husband, and babies. My husband convinced me to trade it in for a Dodge Caravan. I still regret that decision! It took me a year after losing the bug, but I finally got what I really wanted! A 1990 Vanagon GL Westfalia. The Rastafalia! Now, I must say that I have put thousands of dollars into this van, but I have also put many thousands of miles on him. I like to get out and go! : ) Somewhere in there I bought Little Red, the 1974 Beetle, now sold. And this August got my 1976 Automatic Bay window Westfalia! The Apple Blossom. I caught the 'bug' from my grandfather when I was a little girl. Now he is 85 years old, and still tinkering with VW's! He was real impressed with the Rastafalia when we drove down to see them in Florida a year and a half ago. Anyway, I have a lot of fun with these VW's, and I am learning a lot too! I credit this wonderful list for my level of understanding! Currently I am 31, but soon to be 32 in March.

Happy days! Julianna 90 VW Vanagon Westfalia 76 VW Automatic Bay Westfalia
