Nope. Was part of Rolls Royce. Daimlers of late years were badge-engineered RRs. VW & BMW between them recently snapped the lot up. BMW got the RR badge but nothing else. VW got the factory, designs (such as they are... land barges) etc.

Different Daimlers. English Daimler goes back at least to the teens. Daimler-Benz was an old German aircraft-engine company, which later was bought by Mercedes to become Mercedes-Benz (dunno the details)

And Chrysler is owned lock, stock & barrel by Mercedes-Benz... despite the "merger" tag, it was a straight buyout. Daimler-Chrysler my ....
