Subject: Re: clarify .006 on lifters

Thanks to all who responded about the .006 on lifters. Mine are nice and quiet, the van has lots of power (OK, well, for a 1981 Westy it runs real nice), so I will do as Bob suggested and leave it alone. It just appeared to me that this (.006) was becoming a cure all for all sorts of problems, the ones Bob refers to not withstanding, or the new standard for all engines. When I read Bob's post the first time, it appeared to be only for "troubled" or reassembled lifters, which he has confirmed.

Thanks again Myron Lind 81 Westy 82 Diesel Westy getting a "mechanical TDI"
