Right you are Bob--

Brings to mind a 63 Eldo ragtop I purchased--had 94,000 mile on it, and smoked a bit-----had the lifter clack thing.

Changed oil 3 times in one month substituting 2 qts of oil with Marvel---- So in a 5 gt capcity pan I was using 3 gts of oil--2 qts marvel, each change.

Then after that, it was just the one qt. per change---and back to the 3000 mile ritual.

Allot of crap came out of the pan, and the stuck ring situation was resolved and the clacking Maringa, of the lifter's ceased---- drove the car for another 136,000 miles and traded even for a 750 Moto Guzzi---

The guy I made the trade with drove the car another 2 years------he crashed it.

Good car---good engine---a happy Marvel engine---:>)

My 85 GL had the lifter Mombo for awhile when I first got it-----never more------ ( who said that? )

Later,

Terry

Terry and fellow learkers the reason I suggested before the oil change is to limit the amount of junk suspended in the oil as a rebuilder I have a hard time telling people to modify there oil that can get tricky and if its the first time you are adding marvel then you dont want the slug in the oil for the whole 2 or 3k miles I have seen the benifits of marvel after 1 heat cycle in my own cars Bob
