Using Terry's advice a few weeks ago (and that of a few others like Stan, Ben & Steve) I first cleaned out my engine by adding Gunk engine flush and running the engine for 5 minutes as per instructions on the can and then draining it. I added new oil with one quart of Marvel mystery oil and plan to run this for a couple of thousand miles. I also added about 10 OZ of Marvel to my gas at fill up to clean the top of the engine. After my next oil change I am going to switch to Mobil one synthetic oil and use the Trasko oil filter system I bought. http://trasko-usa.com/

In case anyone is just tuning in to the Trasko option, the company has offered an 8% discount to anyone from our list buying the system. Several people have received the Japanese test results and are going to translate. For me however there was enough in English to convince me that the Trasko filter system is beneficial.

Before doing any removing of lifters it seems wise to follow the advice of those more experienced who suggest a good engine flush and the Marvel oil.

Simplicity first. Hard work later.
