I have noticed this mirror phenomenon too with both my 75 Bay and my Caravelle. Always made me feel that VW didn't put a long-enough stalk on the interior mirror, as the top of the rear window cuts off the horizon, even with no load on a level road. The Bay did sag slightly at the rear; the Caravelle has no sag visible, and I haven't thought of measuring sill height front & rear.

At least they don't tilt sideways!

Torsionbar vans can of course be adjusted to beat this (I decambered my 57 Panel this way, at the same time cancelling out the sag). Would of course work on a T2 too. No such easy way out with the coil-sprung T3, unfortunately.
