Subject: e-brake adjustment/rear brake adjustment/slow clutch

Hi all, Made it to Denver yesterday; MAN is Wyoming cold when the wind blows.

A couple of questions--the Bentley says the rear brakes self-adjust--is that always the case, or is there a time when you manually adjust them a la old beetles? I'm about to adjust e-brake cables, and Bentley also calls for the rears to be adjusted properly first.

Thurs. morning it was below zero, and the e-brake lever didn't want to stay down, seemed the cable from the front was frozen. Is this common, is there an easy solution? I'm assuming I just had some moisture in there from CA?

Finally, I have a reasonably new clutch and clutch slave cylinder. After driving in cold temps for a while, the clutch felt very much like it would when a slave cylinder is going, i.e. the pedal goes almost to the floor before disengaging the clutch, and grabs almost immediately when letting up on the pedal. Could this be somehow related to cold temps as well? When the van warmed up a bit, things were back to normal again. I went through this cycle a couple of times throughout the day.

Thanks in advance, bmc :) "Faith will move mountains, but you'd better bring a shovel...."
