this may not help, but...one day i was fiddling with my plug wires for some reason, probobly seeing how hard it was going to be to change the plugs...anyway the next day my van was preforming very badly, and mostly in 3rd gear when i was trying to accelerate. so i switched the plug wire i was screwing with the other day to the best old plug wire i had( always keep the best of the old wires;) and no more problem...i had somehow messed the newer one up...your problem may be different, but if you have not checked this, it may help....
