Subject: Brake modifications?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi All, I'm hoping some of you have had a whole Subaru & not just the engine at some point. I've had 5 before moving up in size to the Vanagon Syncro. The Subarus have, or at least used to have, a feature called "the hill- holder clutch".

It is just a pressure valve of sorts that is integrated into the brake lines, so that the brakes remain applied as long as you hold the clutch in. It is a great thing on a steep hill, like using your e-brake only better. I have been wondering if it is possible to use this part, with whatever else is connected to the clutch pedal, on a Vanagon? Has anyone else thought about this? It would be great here in Seattle with the hills, but also offroad.

Just curious what y'all think........ Thanks,
