I have one in my '88 now. VW never officially sold 5 speeds in gas powered vans, so any 5 spds. that are here were brought in individually. Mine came from Chris Weddle at Weddle Industries. info@2weddle.com. The only changes needed to install this 5 speed are a different mount on the nose of the tranny, and a shift linkage to work with a 5 spd. rather than a 4. Chris sells the linkage too, but I chose to modify the 4spd. linkage which is working fine.
