Do you carry a lot of keys and trinkets on your key ring, or did the previous owner?

Based on the scanty info provided, it sounds like a worn out ignition switch... R/R the switch, it's dirt cheap (<$20). The excess weight, swinging about with the center of the key as its point of rotation leverages the tip of the key back and forth in the socket as you drive. Heavier weight = more damage. Often overlooked problem.

Then remove the 30 superfluous keys to ex-girlfriend's houses, mom's greenhouse key, the golf cart key, the pocket knife, the lucky anvil, and the Ronco Pocket Fisherman from your key ring.

My 85GL will not start. It wasn't starting yesterday. I tried and tried and eventually got it running. I shut it off and it won't start again. Here is what I have done. I can not hear the fuel pump "buzz." I don't think there is power going to the pump. I replaced the fuel pump relays and this didn't help. Could this be a problem with the ignition switch?? I haven't tested anything yet but if it turns out to be the ignition switch how do I take it off?? Is this a big job??

thanks, Chad 85GL
