Ken, and all,

I don't think that is possible. In ten minutes of running the van, there still was no water at the radiator. At that point the needle starts to climb past the indicator light, engine always at >2000 rpm. If I run it longer, it will overheat and the temp light will start flashing, don't want to risk that with a 150000 mi engine. I know that leaving the thermostat out is not smart, I am however not revving the engine until it is warm. I did that to eliminate this particular trouble factor. I cannot find an explanation for my radiator not warming up, except it itself being faulty. My heat exchanger and heater valve might be on its last legs, as well. Could that cause the same symptoms?? Is there any other way to find out than the rather primitive approach of replacing every single component??? On the other hand my Macintosh is being troubleshot the same way. Hm.
