My first VW was a 1971 Karmann Ghia bought in the early 80's.  I drove that
car for years and learned to fix it myself out of necessity.  I restored it
and sold it in 1997 to buy a 1990 Vanagon GL.  Found the list and became
interested in getting a Syncro.  Two years ago I sold my 1965 Mustang to buy
a 1987 Syncro (which I drove to Alaska this past summer).  I love my Syncro
and my partner now drives the 90 GL.  I recently purchased two 82 Westfalia
full campers from a salvage yard and plan on getting one of them on the road
and putting the pop top from the other on my Syncro.
I am 40 years young.
