As I write, my son has two Jeeps that have been brought in to have the colored poly-urea with aliphatics applied to them. They are big, much modified rock climbing rigs. They are actually Jeep bodies and frames with all the roll cages, bush bars, etc. One had an 8 inch wide section removed lengthwise to keep the overall width of the machine to a certain dimension with the wheels back on it. One of these rigs will get a complete "Paint-Job" with Canary Yellow, while the other gets a Bright Blue. Should be very cool.

People seem to like the poly-urea a little better than the polyurethanes, mainly because it represents a step up in the technology with the attendant advantages polyurethanes. Things like the high pressure application with the attendant greater adherence to the substrate, greater shore hardness, etc.

I look forward to getting my Van done. I'm like you, I don't care for the Bra, etc. As for resale, once a potential buyer understands the advantage of the applied rock protection, I don't think it will affect any sales. But then I don't plan of giving my Van up, unless it is a concession to a bad knee that gets a workout working the clutch peddle. In that case, I would get a late Vanagon with an auto trans.
