My son reported to me that the transmission fluid I his 84 GL had started to look different. I examined it and determined that the gear oil from the differential had contaminated the fluid. I removed the transmission and disassembled the differential. The pinion bearing between the transmission and differential had failed. This had damaged the deals. I replaced the pinion bearings and seals as well as the governor oil seal (as per Bentley). Now the transmission is pumping fluid into the differential and out of the vent on the differential, not the vent for the transmission. I am at a loss. Any suggestions? Rico Dagastino Munford, TN |
