Great, If we knew enough about the original design, and had some mechanical engineering buddies, we could probably estimate how affective a front "bull bar" would be. The goal of course would be to improve the vanagon crush zone so it does acceptably well in a front end crash. The crash test head injury number for vanagon driver/passenger ranges from 1905/1060 (1988) to 1320/899 (1988 GL). I think at 1000 you're dead. A goal would be to reduce these numbers to at least 600. I wonder how many feet a bull bar would have to stick out, and what its crush charcteristics would have to be to accomplish this? Rob
