I have 4 door map pockets - all original vanagon. I have 2 on each side door. My first effort on the passenger side I mounted it in the existing holes and boosted to the list - it was then suggested that I try and open the glove box --- oops. So I moved the map pocket straight back just enough to clear the glove pox and all is OK. The other map pockets are mounted higher and back farther between each front chair and the door. I can take digi pictures if anyone is interested. In my experience one has to be very careful when screwing the pockets in place as the screw holes in the plastic break easily.
