I sent this to Uniroyal on Monday night. 14jan02 Tires installed 9jan02
I just got Uniroyal Larado AWP LT195/75R14, LRC tires installed Wednesday. They are rated for 1435 lbs each at 50psi or 2870lbs per axle. My 83.5 VW Vanagon Westy lists 2866 lbs as max gross weight for the rear axle and less for the front. I've driven about 70 km on the AWPs and I am disappointed. The Motomaster HT 195/75R14 LRC that I had before were much more stable on the highway. These AWPs are really squirmy in a crosswind, even at 50psi. I really don't feel safe with these tires. Can you recommend another tire from your lineup, something with a stiffer sidewall perhaps, and arrange with the installer (Dettmer Tire) to trade these in?
I chose the tires based on their specs. Do I have a chance? Do they have a better tire? Advice? -- Miguel Guelph, Ontario, Canada |
