If memory serves me correctly - (CDN 91 westy) the floor part under the cabinets is stapled (maybe 50) to the floor part of the walk-in area, so Yes, I do believe that one must take out the cabinets to get the floor out. And while you're at it - take out the rear seat and water revervoir (only a few screws) , and while you have it all out check for rust under the rear seat, water reservoir, and rust where the left side (of the van) meets the floor (down in behind there). Also - you did not say - but un-screwing the metal floor plates is not enough - one must pry up the metal valley thingys (that run from the door to the cabinets). Also I do believe that there are 1 or 2 small screws that screw the flooring down to the metal floor of the van - these are probably hidden. The main walking-on part of the floor comes out in 3 main pieces + what is stapled to the flooring under the sink/stove part. I have taken my cabinets out several times (every 2 years for "Krown Rust Inhibitor treatment), most of the procedure is straight forward, but taking out the hanging closet is messy, one must loosen the top bunk to tilt the hanging closet cabinet out. PITA If you need more help you can p-mail me and I'll go out and look at my westy flooring to refresh my memory.
