Yes yes yes! the cases are all different and gears are different and nothing will fit and IF you try to put an air-cooled tranny in a diesel van the cylinder head will sprout fins right before the whole thing explodes in a flash of magnesium fueled pyrotechnical glory....oh...wait.......the diesel is mounted so that it's down by the stern..that means you need to put a bit more oil in the case to reach the gears in the front..
