Hey, folks, I got a problem. My starter (more correctly, the solenoid) sticks when the van is hot, like after a long drive. I have perfected the routine of grabbing a board and running around to the wheel well and poking the starter, which works, but I am looking for a more permanent solution. I have already cleaned contacts, checked voltage, etc., and it isn't electrical -- my guess is that something is getting hot and expanding and wedging it self. One quick tap with a piece of pine usually dislodges it. Any opinions or war stories are welcome. Thanks. Bill Marshall 85 GL Tiico w/'chinese fire drill' starter Phoenix AZ |
