Good ideas. I don't know enough to understand what I've done, but here is what happens:

I've replaced it with another one. I've opened the older AFM and it looks fine.

Don't think so because it was acting bad (no throttle response) and I swapped in another and it still had no throttle response. Maybe both were bad, but that seems unlikely.

When the van is running fine, I've disconnected the afm wiring and the van will respond to the throttle. My guess is that it responds from the O2 sensor, but I don't know. In any case it does respond. So, I don't think this is exactly it, but it could be part of the problem.

Exactly what I think I need.

I'll give this a try. Another major problem is that it is very intermittant. The van has been driving great for a week now, and then all of sudden today it acted bad.
