Subject: What's a South African Vanagon Adventurewagen camper worth?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hi all, I guess that subject line caused a few gasps! Here's the scoop: I've just purchased a nice 1986 Adventurewagen camper, 2WD. If you read my recent postings, you'll remember that I have one of the first SA powertrain conversion kits that are soon to be released in the open market, utilizing the 2.6 litre five-cylinder engine and factory five-speed transmission, all new parts form South Africa. This is a well-proven powertrain package being sold in the new vans there. I am planning to install this first kit into the Adventurewagen along with the proper SA wheels and braking system, making it essentially the same chassis and powertrain as it's newer counterparts. Once finished, it will be used as a demo for a short time period for those interested in this particular conversion, after that to be offered for sale to one lucky buyer. I'd love to hear some input on this project idea, proposed additions, as well as what sort of value one might place on such a unique Vanagon. If someone would have an interest in this vehicle and wish to reserve it before completion, I would be open to offers or communication regarding such. Questions? Input? Thanks for your time!
