Not a chance. The gearing is way too high. I have a DM 4 speed (the higher geared of the 2 USA diesel 4 speeds) and I don't think you could gear much higher with the 1.6NA.

Anyone done it? I'm in central PA where the are some mountains. I need another gear box for a van I want to put on the road. Some have told me to put in the aircooled gearbox. Will the 1.6L NA diesel engine be able to push enough?
