A customer of my shop was in a 50/50 head-on crash with a big ol' Chevy box truck at 55 mph years ago, suffered a broken leg but otherwise unscathed. The Vanagon's driver seat broke free from it's rails, sending him into the back seat. Lucky man he was! The Vanagon, however, was totalled, crushed the entire driver's area.
