Sorry, should have included more info on the Syncro.

The engine is strong, but has the typical lifter rattle until it warms up. I had the heads off about 12000 miles ago chasing the noise, thinking it might be a piston, but pistons and rings looked good. Still very visible hone marks on the cylinders. V/C seems fine, no binding or crowfooting when turning sharp. Might be starting a 3-4 slider problem, just once seemed to bind coming out of third gear about 400 miles ago, changed the GL4 and hasn't done it since. Van located in Bend, Oregon. No rust, very slight body damage and a crack in the windshield.

Original text 1987 Vanagon Syncro, blue, alloy wheels, A/C, weekender bed, . Reasonably clean, 155K miles. Body fairly straight. Good tires. Willing to trade for Jetta or Golf (prefer deisel). Need more economical school transportaion. $3,500.
