I remember getting this advice on an antique Chevrolet p/u I used to own, and ended up with no compression when I tried to start the motor! Guess it's probably a different situation with a bus motor. Also, can you adjust the rockers with the motor running? I'm sure it's a mess, but again, my frame of reference is on old American stuff, so don't laugh too hard if my suggestions seem inane...
