Hello, I recently purchased a good running, used 2.1l motor. I am planning on keeping this engine on reserve until my current engine dies. Any pointers on how to properly pickle this motor until I need it? The engine was rebuilt 3 1/2 years ago and has 60k. I am thinking about pulling the heads and cleaning up the gasket mating surfaces to prevent further corosion then reinstall the heads (lightly tightened) without new rubber gaskets to prevent dust from getting in the cylinders. When it comes time use the engine, then I would install new head gaskets. Good idea or bad?
