Subject: power window dilema
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"
I have had a situation come up with my power window that I am having a tough
time solving. Under the drivers side window is the slide bar that the window
goes up and down on. On this slide bar are two plastic guide pieces that the
cable that moves the window up and down goes though. They are curved to help
the cable make it's 90 degree turn. One at the top of the slider bar and one
at the bottom. They are held in place by a rivet. To my dismay the bottom
river has broken off and has left my window not working. I have spent the
good part of the day trying to fix it. The plastic guide piece will not reach
back to the hole it came out of. The cable dosn't want to stretch that fat.It
is about an inch and a half shy and no matter how hard I pull it will not
reach back to it's hole. Every thing seems to be in place. There are fairly
strong springs on each end of the cable that compress a little when I tug on
it but not enough. Does any one have any secrets as to how to to get this
guide piece back in place. I'd be happy to explain a little better if you
think my explanation makes a little sense to you. It's an incedibly tight
area to work in and I'm almost ready to get the saw zaw out to save my beaten
scratched up arms. All encouragements will be gladdly accepted
