Lifter noise is normal in mid life engines. Excessive noise is not normal. The lifters should quieten completely within a minute or two after starting the engine. There is an on going argument as to the settings on lifters. First everybody needs to know; Have you got hydraulic lifters? Or Solid Lifters. With this information we can crank up our argument again on your behalf.
